Homemade Taco Seasoning (Basic Pantry Mix)

A simple homemade taco seasoning made from everyday spices. Perfect for skillets. casseroles, ground beef, shredded chicken, even vegetables.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 Tbsp chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp cumin
  • 1 Tbsp garlic powder
  • s tsp onion powder
  • 4 Tbsp paprika
  • 1 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • tsp salt
  • 2 tsp cornstarch

Method
 

  1. MIX: all ingredients in a bowl. Whisk until cornstarch is well blended. STORE: in an airtight jar for up to 6 months.
  2. HOW TO USE: (per pound of meat) Brown 1 pound of ground beef or turkey or chicken in a skillet over medium heat. Drain excess grease.
  3. Add 2½-3 tablespoons of seasoning mix. Pour in ¾ cup of water.
  4. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Reduce heat and cook 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until thickened.
