The Story Behind What The Fork Recipes

Welcome to What The Fork Recipes

Hi, I’m Dona, and this is What The Fork Recipes — a place for curious cooks who enjoy discovering recipes that are practical, surprising, and sometimes a little unexpected.

I’m a mom who enjoys collecting vintage cookbooks, testing unusual recipes, and discovering clever kitchen shortcuts that actually work.

I’ve always loved exploring cookbooks, especially older community and vintage cookbooks where you never quite know what you’re going to find. Some recipes are classics, some are forgotten favorites, and some make you stop and say:

“What the fork is that?”

Those are often the most interesting ones to try.

What You’ll Find Here

The recipes on this site come from a mix of places:

  • vintage cookbooks
  • community and church cookbooks
  • practical everyday kitchen ideas
  • pantry cooking solutions
  • unusual recipes that actually work

Some are familiar comfort foods, while others are the kinds of recipes you don’t see very often anymore.

Why I Started This Site

Over the years I’ve collected cookbooks, tested recipes, and discovered that some of the best kitchen ideas come from unexpected places. Sometimes a recipe from a 1960s church cookbook turns out to be surprisingly good. Other times a simple pantry trick solves a problem in the kitchen.

What The Fork Recipes is where I share the recipes that are worth keeping, the ones that work, and the ones that make cooking a little more interesting.
