Homemade Fajita Seasoning (Basic Pantry Mix)

A simple homemade fajita seasoning made from pantry spices. This no-packet fajita mix is budget-friendly, customizable and ready in minutes for chicken, beef vegetables.

Ingredients
  

  • 2 tsps chili powder
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp onion powder
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ¼ tsp pepper
  • ¼ tsp crushed red pepper flakes optional for heat

Method
 

  1. Mix and store in an airtight jar up to 6 months. Shake before using.
  2. Use 1½ to 2 tablespoons seasoning per pound of meat (chicken, beef or pork)
  3. Toss meat with a little oil, add seasoning, cook as usual.
  4. Works great for skillet fajitas, sheet pan meals, or grilled meat.

Notes

Optional Add-Ins:
  • 1/2 tsp oregano for a more Tex-Mex flavor.
  • 1/4 tsp sugar if you like a slightly sweeter fajita profile.
  • lime juice or vinegar during cooking for brightness.
